Dover Street

Acne
The shop represents well the Scandinavian cool that Acne is. White walls, some art hanging from the ceiling and trendy sales assistants all create a feel of a clean, confident brand that knows its own style and is not afraid of going along its own path.
Especially the shoes, with their simple yet bold forms and shapes, were impressive.

Dover Street Market
My expectations were too high when entering the big shop which sells lots and lots of expensive brands. Customers and staff alike were trying too hard to look trendy and fashion-forward in their style choices, creating an atmosphere of fakeness. Sure, it is possible to find some unique pieces, but it seems most customers come to DNS to buy the name, not something of their own, individual style. Harsh perhaps, but this is not a shop I would normally go to.

Hoxton

Start
This mixed-brand shop offers trendy East Londoners such items as Alexander Wang and Mulberry bags, as well as anything cool and expensive that you can think of. Staff were slightly intimidating so not sure if we want to go back...to the start. so clever..

The Hoxton Boutique looks more 'arty-farty' than it actually is which just proves the old saying that you shouldn´t judge a book by its cover. Greeted by two friendly girls, we immediately noticed Marimekko, a brand from our land in the North. This was not the only pleasant surprise as everything else on offer was quite nice, and affordable-ish, too which means that we might even pop by again.

The Oxfam boutique is a breath of ´fresh´ air in West London, which is mostly home to more expensive brands. At the time, it was only I and older ladies who were searching for hidden treasures in this tiny shop where you can find anything from previous Topshop collections to Marc by Marc Jacobs tops.
